Our experience with Willow Tree Housing Partnership and EG Carter & Co.
Our New Build Nightmare
Our experience buying a newly built home from Willow Tree Housing Partnership, dealing with defects, warranty issues and unresolved problems.
The short version
What happened?
In April 2022, we completed on our newly built home. We had been told that 95% of the defects we reported in November 2021 had been resolved.
When we arrived, that wasn’t the case. The house was dusty and unclean, and many of the reported issues remained unfinished.
We were also given incorrect guidance about the NHBC warranty and how to report defects. Several serious issues with the property remain unresolved today.
Why we created this website
We created this website after trying, over an extended period, to resolve these issues directly with Willow Tree Housing Partnership.
Our aim is to help others avoid similar problems and to raise awareness of the issues we’ve experienced.
Ultimately, we are seeking accountability, transparency and meaningful change.
Fair and evidence-led
This site reflects our personal experience and is based on documented information, correspondence and inspections.
Protecting neighbours
We are not naming the development, street or village because we do not want to negatively affect other homeowners.

Still unresolved
Several serious issues remain outstanding
The outstanding issues include kitchen defects, external areas, insulation performance, and window and door repairs. We continue to seek a fair resolution focused on bringing the home up to the standard it should have met from the beginning.
